Assassin's Creed es un videojuego de sigilo ambientado en la Edad Media, desarrollado por Ubisoft y pensado como primera parte de una tetralogía. Las primeras referencias del llamado Project Assassin se dieron a conocer en el evento Microsoft's Xbox 360. En un principio fue oficialmente presentado para la PS3, con fecha de salida para 2008, bajo el nombre de Assassin's Creed. Posteriormente, Ubisoft anunció que el juego estaría también disponible para PC, Xbox 360 y para el Iphone.

El juego ha sido desarrollado por gran parte del equipo responsable de Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, sello con 8 millones de unidades vendidas en todo el mundo.

Se ha confirmado una segunda parte de este videojuego titulada Assassin's Creed 2 (programada para 2009)

Una protosecuela del juego, titulada Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles, salió al mercado el 5 de febrero de 2008, para Nintendo DS y desarrollada por Gameloft.
